This is such a stunning shot. I completely adore the focus here, wow The parts in focus really jump out at you. The bokeh is beautiful. I think the fact that it is in black and white really gives an intense mood and atmosphere to the picture and it rids it of the distraction of colour, so that the concept stands out more. I think the border even adds to the impact because it seems more compact and it makes my eyes look directly at the centre. That being said, it may have been cool to see this in a wider screen format, but that could be just me; just an option The shapes are incredible, I love how it plays with the eye, the twists are so fun to look at, it gives almost a sense of movement...a struggle perhaps. Only thing that slightly irks me was that I would have liked to have seen that 4th loop that its in the same direction as the others in focus, in focus as well. I find it personally a bit distracting I must say otherwise, its a very intriguing photo, and I like that one can interpret it whichever way they feel. It's quite a unique take on a fence. This deserves all the views it can get! Brilliant work
This shows how strange the real world can be if photographed the right way. Gates can be bent in any which way, depending on how something impacts on them. This turns a typical bent gate into something otherworldly.
The focus really makes a huge difference on the vision of this piece. It almost gives the metal a human factor, tormenting emotion evoked by an inanimate object. This is a very original piece, it stands out among many art pieces that showcase more normal views of everyday things.
The technique is amazing, your eyes are drawn to the few bars that are in focus and the out-of-focus parts simply blend into the background. It gives the mind a strange, flowing sensation. It almost gives the illusion of movement. Impact-wise, very nicely done. You get a slight 3D effect from looking intently at the center.
